New Baby in the Family..

Posted by Anita  Published in Musings

Sort of. Is she not the most beautiful baby? You can head over to my brother’s blog to see more pictures. My dad raised appaloosas for years and I always loved the spring that brought the new babies. We’d play with them so much they’d follow us anywhere 😉

Handmade quilt

Posted by Anita  Published in Musings

xmasquilt

Now that I actually started digging through the pile here in the living room that got dumped when I got back from Christmas, I uncovered my best Christmas present to show off. This quilt was made by my aunt Butchy. Her name was really Ellen but I didn’t know that for years and I never knew why she was called Butchy. No it wasn’t the obvious reason 😀 She was a sweet and funny woman. She made beautiful quilts, lots of them and my dad kindly gave all of my brothers one before he died. Well, my mom gave me this last one this Christmas. It’s not done, it’s only the top but hopefully I can do justice finishing it up. Is it not gorgeous? 😉

Deciding to have fourteen children

Posted by Anita  Published in Musings

I try not to judge people but this woman is totally irresponsible. I don’t care if a person chooses to have 20 kids…if you have a job and can support them. She thinks she’s being judged because she is a single mom, not by me, I have three kids and never married. My judgment comes from the fact that she did not have a way to support the first 6 let alone being so selfish to bring 8 more into this already over-populated world. My first baby I gave up for adoption because I was a teenager with no means of supporting him. Don’t you think I wanted to keep him? I loved him, which was why he went to a family that waited a long time for him and had the financial means to care for him.

So now, this wonderful mother is seeking donations, getting food stamps and somehow now thinks she should get a college degree. She might have thought of that part before she brought eight more babies into the world for taxpayers to support.  For God’s sake she is 33 years old! Much too old act so selfishly. I’m not sure how she thinks she’ll have time to go to college along with caring for 14 children, 8 of them newborns and still be:  “I’m providing myself to my children”. Who is she expecting to pay for her college education? Any guesses there? I have a mental illness but at least I recognize it, it’s a shame she can’t see hers or that the doctors who so stupidly implanted all those embryos didn’t think about what the hell they were doing.

But if you are feeling generous, she has set up a website where you can donate with your credit card! I’m sorry but even for the babies sake I won’t, a woman that off the wall cannot possibly handle money any more responsibly than she is handling the rest of her life. I fear for her children, all 14 of them.

Sitepoint.com is having a book sale

Posted by Anita  Published in Musings

sitepoint.jpgSitepoint.com is having a pdf book sale through 2/13 to support the victims of the Australian brush fires. Lots of CSS and HTML books as well as some ASP, PHP, javascript and more.

These people are doing a wonderful thing, 100% of the proceeds from this sale will be donated to the victims of the recent Australian bushfires. I hope you’ll take a moment to give a little help!

Edited to add a link to the Australian Red Cross.

Looking out my backdoor

Posted by Anita  Published in Musings, Pictures

Think Creedance Clearwater Revival now, although my imagination seems to be sadly lacking as far as giants doing cartwheels, a statue wearing high heels, look at all the happy creatures dancing on the lawn.

My imagination goes somewhere else entirely, which you’ll see if you click on the image 😀 I have had a visitor to my back door I see though. I see those kitty tracks every time it snows but I never see the poor kitty. Anyone want to come over for a picnic?
