Too funny, and a perfect topic today to go along with the ridiculous problems we’ve been discussing about navigating blogs and FB, cutting through the nonsense, Etc. Perfect accompanying picture. Karol

    Hi Anita,

I have been fighting the same battle on our blog —- 15 automated spams arriving every day! I installed this plugin 2 days ago: WP-SpamFree WordPress Spam Plugin, and have had no new spam get through!! I would recommend giving it a try.

I spent some time reading comments about spam on the blogs. It seems that they increase the ranking of sites in search engines; that it works as a Search Engine Optimization strategy.

    Good Luck,

    Mark

Yeah, once they find you it gets ridiculous. That akismet (which you have too) finds most and puts it in the spam folder. I always check before deleting it though because once it a while my friends end up in there.

I was ready to discontinue the blog because I was getting tired of emptying numerous spam comments from the akismet folder, even though it was effective at catching virtually all the spam.
