Living next to a rental house is the pits. The last tenants had a bunch of kids who threw big rocks over the fence into my yard for amusement. They are making the new ones look good. These folks have kids who play and scream right outside the only window I have that opens. Even better they have a big dog that is chained outside and barks incessantly. My bedroom is on that side of the house. It’s a whole lot worse though when I dare to venture into my backyard. Then today I went out to check my garden and there are rocks and bricks in my yard! I am so tempted to throw them back over the fence. Maybe I’ll get lucky and beam the dog while I’m at it.
Anita — That picture is hilarious and sure expresses how you feel about the situation. I know what it is like having yucky neighbors. I once lived in a beautiful place that had two units, mine and the one below me. The 3 young women who lived below were fitness instructors and would blare their really gross music as loud as possible at two in the morning as they shouted and jumped to the music. They invaded my space in this way. I begged and pleaded for them to stop. I called the land lady. I called the police. Numerous times. Nothing stopped them. I had to move out. I had such terrible thoughts about these people I would not dare to put them in writing. Your story reminds me of them and to this day when I think of them really dark unmentionable thoughts come to mind regarding those creeps.
Ask the I Ching what to do about them. 🙂

Yeah, I know just what you mean. I love dogs, it takes a lot to make me feel malice towards a dog. These people though…Just move in, immediately offend neighbors, way to win the good neighbor award 😛
A few years ago I used to live next to the neighbor, “Mrs.Knows every thing on earth”. She had her own car, but she didn’t like to drive it to town because she didn’t want to increase the car’s mileages. So, every time I went to town this lady liked to go with me for a free ride, and she never help paying for gas. I didn’t care about that, but the most frustrate was she always gave me instruction how to drive the way she wanted, and how fast I should go. I tried to be nice and be patient with her because I wanted to keep good friendship with her as a good neighbor. One day we had a long trip to other town and again she started her driving guideline as usual. This time I immediately stopped my car and asked her;
“Do you want to walk to town by yourself or you want me take you there? If you want me to take you there just sit and be quite and enjoy the beautiful roadside until we get there. Today I don’t have mood for any lecture, so please let me drive my car the way I want.”
After that day she never talks to me again until I moved out of that town.
That would have drove me nuts 🙂
I’m concerned that the Pit bull requires a unique sort of owner…these pet dogs, regardless of how ‘trusting’ still have teeth, are nevertheless animals not having moral concepts and when they DO bite, won’t allow go. As in all animals…some have a tendency to be a lot more suseptable to instinctual habits and time and time once again, this breed tends to try and do just that.
Yeah, and people like my neighbors, I think that’s the only animal they would own. That thing acted like he wanted to kill me every time I went out into my own back yard, even with a 6 foot fence between us. :p
If you have a dog like that you need to train it, what a concept.
I have the same type of filth in a house next door to me. We are 30-year homeowners, the new people get public aid to pay the rent. They have menacing Pit Bulls that run loose, they have been arrested for selling heroin, they piss on our property and I was physically assaulted last month by the scraggly matriarch.
Yesterday the cops were on OUR property in bullet-proof vests, trying to find one of the scumbags who is eluding arrest. I keep wondering if we should hit the floor if we hear gunfire…
I don’t know whether to buy a gun and get ready to do battle on my own property, or just surrender and sell this house. The authorities have been no help.
I hear you on your frustration with the screaming kids and mean dog, just know that it could be worse. Much worse.
My friend keeps telling me to buy a frequency emitter that can’t be heard but will make them physically sick. 🙂 They collect trash for a living and let it sit on their truck in the backyard for weeks and guess what showed up at my house? Cockroaches! I know just how you feel, I am ready to move. They are so inconsiderate, which is putting it mildly.
