I find myself wondering. I guess when I look back and see the recent history where I was doing pretty good that should be of some use, if only to myself. A reminder if you will that times aren’t always horrible. I think people want inspiring and uplifting and not all this depressing crap I spew. The last few days I’ve been thinking what if I just quit? Oh I could leave it up for all those people with pineal tumors to find encouragement but what other use is it really? I don’t offer any kind of advice or knowledge (other than bloody brain tumors) that anyone is really interested in. It’s just a total hodgepodge of junk.
Maybe I should have added a poll to this ๐
Anita, if the blog does good for you then that is reason enough.
I would love to see you post things about your art, Bryce, 3D – how you do those things, etc.

Sometimes I’m not sure it’s doing me any good at all. Just letting the world know I’m a mental case :p
So I put my art on my other blog, you know the one I don’t post anything but pictures on. What really cracks me up is my grader report on my blog with no words: Readability Level: Advanced / Doctoral Degree.
Okay — my poll answer is Keep At It.
Then I’d like to ask you the question Bean keeps asking us: what do you want your blog to do?
Well, she doesn’t say it that way, but that’s the question we all have to answer in order to write out some goals.
You have a good thing going here. How ’bout refocusing… you have some incredible art. Maybe it’s time to do some more of it. And share. What do you think? And there’s nothing wrong with writing how you feel as well. That’s who you are. And there’s something always to be learned in reading about you deal with it. ๐
I see Danny gregory is one of your “Favorites.” How about drawing your journal as you write it? Every day matters, you know. ๐
Deviant Art is also a fun place to play. And learn.
You have a natural circle of blogging buddies that would like to continue hanging out with you.

I have no idea what I want. People that relate maybe, but the only people who are going through the same thing are the brain tumor readers, and they aren’t talking. I put my art on my other blog, but I write nothing, I just add art. And I’ve done a damn good job at keeping that blog hidden haven’t I? It’s lame is why. I’m not so good at in depth discussion of my art.
Part of the depression cycle is self doubt. That is one of the benefits of journals and blogging, is that you can look back at the patterns. Even when you are really feeling down you can see the hope. You can reflect back on what factors helped bring you up before and try them again. With reflection, journals/blogs can help people identify cycles and hopefully break the ones that are not working for you.
I think there is a lot of value to your blog. For me personally, it has helped me get to know you better. I have learned about your art, your challenges, your glorious garden, your insights. That is something that I value a lot!

Yeah, I think it’s because I went out and read lots of inspiring feel-good blogs and then thought about my own. Nothing like sharing my personal manure pile with the world :p
Sliloh,
You speak out of my head!!!!!!!!
I am wondering the same thing and thinking of just letting mine go away.
I am so often amazed at how your words are already in my own mind.
You, however, are very talented and much younger, so I agree that you should keep at it.

๐
Thank you Carol, I think you should keep at it too then! ๐
Personally I really like your blog. I love the things you have to share – all the funny things and the poignant ones and the inspirational ones. And, it helps keep me updated about what you’re doing and how you’re feeling since we don’t get to talk that often. ๐ And I’ve enjoyed learning with you about your garden too. I’m excited for this summer and I hope I can come down there to help you with it.
I agree about putting your art up here though. If you don’t feel like you can get involved in a deep discussion about all the political/metaphysical implications of your art, then just talk a little bit about how you did it or what you were feeling when you made it.
Keep at it, momma, don’t fall off the face of the earth!
Well, I’ll keep slogging along with my sorry stories then. Btw, you’d be amazed at the mold I’m growing in my kitchen….:p
Mold in the kitchen AGAIN? Wasn’t I just down there and cleaned your kitchen from top to bottom? *shakes head* Oy.
Not anymore, I put it on the back porch :p
Re: readability grade: advanced/doctoral degree
Man…don’t let young artists, art galleries and museums catch on that you need an advanced degree to enjoy the nonverbal. *smile* Of course, academies and critics already know.

Lol, I know, I’m just stumped how grader came up with that ๐
well, my first reply got et by something. I’ll repost it here and hope it’s not in duplication.
to wit:
Hi Anita!
“Is there any value to this blog?” That’d be a “yup” (“like, fer shure”, if you’re from The Valley) from here. Your blog talks about issues important to far more people than will let on, and does so from the perspective of someone who is fighting that particular dragon. Your notes of how you get on with stuff ‘klonked’ me into some action on work that needs to be done before I can do a post I had in mind, thanks.
From out here, I don’t come away from your blog with just those posts in mind, though, even if I only read the one on a particular visit. Over the times I’ve had a chance to go read blogs, I’ve had a grand time looking at ice storm and snowed-over garden pictures and seeing the spring horse “babies”, the informational vid re: the Fed and all, looking through your bryce and poser work. You’ve an interesting blog to explore in and artistic and verbal talent with which to shepherd it. Adapt as pleases you, but I’d be sorry to see it >poof< disappear.
Cheers!

Thank you Pete, it sure is a mess of everything isn’t it? I guess that makes it easy to not run out of subject matter. ๐
Your title asked โIs there any value to this blog?โ.
Yes, it is.
and you wrote โIโve been thinking what if I just quit?โ
NO! Please donโt do that.
Many things I like to read from your blog.
Although I never see you in person, but I can feel you in my heart that you are a kind heart person, sincerely, and also you are very artistic.
Please keep on.
Thank you Rainbow, I’ll keep plugging along I guess ๐
Never ever stop! Today is 4/22/09. I met someone who is one of the most wonderful people in the world. She is a kick ass woman in everyway. Our Yahoo360 world was stunned when “SHE” of all people has developed a Pineal gland Tumor. We are all waiting for the next step and of course are hoping for a benign one. I have been weepy and a mess since this news came out, but if anyone can beat this and live on to a full life it is her. You are giving people hope and information on a subject they know nothing of until they are faced with it. I look at this situation this way. If it was me at least I have made it this far *50. I can’t imagine little kids with these things. Never stop. Good luck and love to all people who see this. Life is frigging wonderful and sometimes we have to go through these moments just to get to the next phase of our lives. Good luck all. :@)
Thanks Jeff, try to not worry, and tell her the same. Most are no big deal at all. Best of luck to her! ๐
